Meet Muse: A New Chapter in Our Coffee Story
Share
At Poets & Prose, every coffee we offer carries a story—a human thread connecting land, labor, and love. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Muse, single-origin coffee from Honduras, grown by the dedicated hands of Adasmin Bautista.
Muse comes from the lush, high-altitude hills of Los Lirios in the Comayagua region, where Adasmin cultivates Typica coffee trees on his farm, El Zapote. Sitting between 1600 and 1700 meters above sea level, his one-hectare plot is a small but powerful testament to what passion and perseverance can create.
A Farmer’s Journey: From Tradition to Transformation
Adasmin's connection to coffee runs deep. As a teenager, he helped his parents tend their coffee fields. Later, his mother gifted him a small piece of land, and with years of hard work—and family support—he grew it into his own thriving farm. Today, Adasmin is part of a proud tradition of third-generation coffee growers who see coffee not only as a way of life but as a legacy to protect and pass on.
Farming in Honduras isn't easy. Growers like Adasmin face fluctuating prices, labor shortages, and increasing threats from pests and climate change. Yet, against these odds, he remains committed to improving his craft, investing in quality, and maintaining the traditions his family began decades ago.
By working through direct trade relationships, Adasmin is able to receive fair compensation—over double the local market rate. That support makes a real difference, allowing him to reinvest in his farm, support his wife and two children, and envision a sustainable future for the next generation.
A Natural Beauty
Muse is crafted through a natural process: hand-picked ripe cherries are fermented dry for 24 hours, then dried slowly on raised beds in solar dryers over 25–30 days. This gentle, patient method preserves the coffee's vibrant flavours and highlights the richness of Typica’s profile.
The result is a coffee that's lively and sweet, a true celebration of its origin. Look for nice floral, complex, fruity, boozy, sweet aftertaste.
Why We Call It Muse
In literature, a muse is a source of inspiration—a spark that sets creativity into motion. That's exactly what this coffee represents to us: inspiration. Inspiration drawn from the hands that cultivated it, from the resilience of the farming communities in Honduras, and from the endless possibilities captured in every sip.
Muse reminds us that behind every great coffee lies a story worth telling—and worth tasting.
